using Products from The Posh Gourmet
Recipe courtesy Sandie Jarrett

Using Santa Fe Pepper Bread Dipping Oil adds instant flavor when used to sauté broccoli florets. Adding healthy, delicious, Mediterranean foods, such as broccoli, almonds, and olive oil to your diet has been associated with many health benefits. Fresh broccoli sautéed in healthy Santa Fe Pepper extra virgin olive oil is a quick and tasty way to add fresh Mediterranean foods to your diet. Serve with grilled fish or poultry or with roasted meats or poultry.

Serves 4

5 cups broccoli florets, washed and dried
4 - 5 cloves garlic, minced (2 - 3 teaspoons minced)
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons Santa Fe Pepper Bread Dipping Oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
5 tablespoons sliced almonds, toasted
pinch of sea salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper, optional*

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add the broccoli** and sauté for 2 - 3 minutes.  Add the minced garlic and continue to sauté until the broccoli is tender-crisp. Stir in the lemon juice.  Sprinkle with almonds and a pinch of sea salt; gently toss to combine.

Serve hot.

Cook's Notes:

*Crushed peppers are optional.  The Santa Fe Pepper Bread Dipping Oil adds plenty of heat to this dish.  Taste before adding optional crushed red pepper.

** To prevent the oil from spattering, make sure that the broccoli florets are thoroughly dried before adding to hot oil.
